Citi Zēni – Eat Your Salad
Krátce o interpretovi
Citi Zēni (v překladu „Jiní kluci“) je lotyšská chlapecká kapela stávající se ze šesti členů. Název kapely je rovněž slovní hříčkou, neboť v angličtině zní jako slovo „občan“. Frontmanem skupiny je Jānis Pētersons, který je doprovázen ostatními členy hrajícími na hudební nástroje případně doplňujícími vokály. Dohromady se dali v březnu 2020 na jednom ze songwriting campu. V roce 2021 skupina vydala své debutové album se songy nahranými ve svém národním jazyce, s kterými velmi výrazně zabodovali na lotyšské hudební scéně a získali tři nominace na významnou hudební cenu. Ve své tvorbě se tak trochu ironicky dotýkají témat, která jsou aktuální především z pohledu jejich vrstevníků.
V lednu 2022 bylo oznámeno, že se zúčastní lotyšského národního kola Supernova s písní Eat Your Salad. S ní okamžitě získali popularitu na sociální síti TikTok, která jim ve finále Supernovy pomohla k vítězství. V národním kole obdrželi se svým eko-bio hitem nejvyšší hodnocení od poroty i od diváků, a bylo tak rozhodnuto, že pojedou Lotyšsko reprezentovat na Eurovizi do Turína, kde je uvidíme soutěžit v prvním semifinále.
